OVERVIEW:
Solvent Cleaning

PC0910_MeetingANeed_a.jpg
Solvent Cleaning includes hydrocarbon-based solvents and halogenated solvents (chlorinated and brominated solvents). TCE (trike) and PCE (perc) were the most commonly used, but modern regulations are requiring more and more control over solvent use and pushing many facilities to consider other cleaning methods to replace or augment the solvent cleaners. When dealing with solvents, various specialized control equipment are also required, such as exhaust ventilation, separators, and evaporators, for worker and environmental safety. Another process that falls under solvent cleaning is vapor degreasing, which uses the vapor form of solvent cleaners to remove surface soils from parts.
